The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 要不是因为Maggie Q根本看不下去，不知所云的片子。看的都快睡着了。
两星半。垃圾场级别的剧情，白瞎Maggie Q了，文字描述的结盟，我愣是没看出来。
尼基塔女主过去那么久依然没变样还是那么漂亮，只是这片子真的3星勉为其难...
没有红雀好看，更没有安娜好看。音效也不好，估计钱不够。
剧情一般，但是Maggie Q太美太性感了，想到了赤裸特工。看漂亮姐姐又优雅又暴力，也可以4星。
稀碎的剧情加不怎么样的颜值，也就值这个分数了 马丁坎贝尔，烂饭可香？
剧情什么的就随便看看好了！这片的角色演员年龄也是服了，女主40+，几位男性角色都是70+。有种把几十年甚至二十几年的动作演员拉出来随便拍了一部。
大美女老了，当年第一次看见感觉真的性感美丽，这电影演员没问题，就是感觉剧本不咋地。
还不如再看一遍赤裸特工呢...美好的肉体和美好的吴彦祖...
局长依旧稳
李美琪好漂亮，故事血腥、暴力、粗俗，但是人物太多复杂，削弱了原本的故事性，没看太懂。

你选择上我还是杀我？然后鸟人与李美琪就开搞。妈的你以为你们是布拉德皮特和朱莉的《史密斯夫妇》嚒！无脑的垃圾电影，浪费爸爸时间！
Maggie Q真的年纪不小了。还要主演这种打打杀杀的动作戏，甚至还不得不卖弄性感风骚。真是既让人心疼，有顿觉无奈。联想到之前在《追忆迷局》看到的阿祖，真是希望回到《赤裸特工》的年代。本片里还有老蝙蝠侠迈克尔·基顿和局长塞缪尔·杰克逊加盟。加上依旧魅力的QQ。虽然文武戏都一般，但情怀加分呀。
Maggie Q确实不会演戏，片子还烂尾——是 没钱啦赶紧特么收工吧级别的 烂尾。
本来只准备给两颗半的（豆瓣为啥没半星？），冲着老美女……还是美片现在的通病，就是不会讲故事了……除了一桶乱斗枪战爆炸，最后为了啥都不清楚！
但凡费点脑子情节剧本改合理些，或者请个靠谱的武指。还能混个三星。
刻板情节，男主角真的，让我替MaggieQ可惜。
动作戏可以的，比较硬，感情戏莫名其妙，最后萨缪尔炸死大反派之后那段基顿去送死更是毫无理由。MaggieQ始终欣赏不来，不过本片里还拍的挺过得去。
