The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 又一部细腻、丰满、深沉、张力十足的西部片。前面压节奏徐徐展开，各种细节铺垫、营造出内敛而愈趋紧张的氛围，几乎没有配乐却难掩紧张不安、蓄满了“山雨欲来风满楼”之势。最后对决干净利落，怜子之情自然流露，揭示老亨利的真实身份的同时给片子增添了些许温情与悲壮色彩。近期难得的佳片。
节奏明快，剧情略简单，很老派，还算值得一看

色彩动人，细节精致。即使不交代老亨利的身份也很好看。
开完会冒烟的左轮，击中会炸飞的双管，开垦却不发芽的土地，
亨利老矣，尚能战否？电影给出的答案是明确的，但好像又具有开放性：面对土匪的群而攻之，他依然身手矫捷，神枪不减当年。可最终还是死在了受伤男子的冷枪之下。我一直在思考，故事为什么会是这样的结局？而当儿子将他的尸首埋入地下，重新启程时，仿佛有一种传承的意味，父亲的死促成了儿子的生，似乎要延续那个比利小子的传说。影片疑问式的叙述，让一切都充满不确定性。我甚至在想，老亨利真的死了吗？

难得现在还能看到一部如此舒缓古典的西部片。虽然剧情和场景都简单了些，和《新豪勇七蛟龙》这样的当代西部动作大片相去甚远，但骨子里的悲怆气息与东木老爷子的《不可饶恕》如出一辙
比较老派的西部牛仔片，节奏较慢，但非常起范儿，只推荐爱好传统西部片的人观看。
