The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 叙事的连贯性不是很好，也没有能成功得营造出紧迫感，因为结局是注定的，也感觉没头没尾的
女性生存过程中被误解和被伤害的种种阴差阳错。不是女导演拍不出这种视角，反转很多，但女主持续的慌张焦虑和伴随反转而来的恐惧还是很能让人共情的。缺点是太过形式，像是为了连接反转而填充的剧情。
3星吧，多一星给女主和风景，故事真没有什么震撼感。
和《厄运假期》【《艾米丽在巴黎》（：】还有许多类似的片子很相似，都以鬼吼鬼叫、傻里傻气的美国游客开始；然而平静之下有风波，接着一步踏错步步行错。有多少可以猜到的情节不重要，更关键的目的只要能让你停留在屏幕面前，就是胜利。“人无千日好，花无百日红”，Leighton Meester如今只能接到这样规模的的电影邀约实属遗憾；她应该值得真好，但确实很无赖。
剧情没太大惊喜，但整个看下来挺舒服的，挺好
看似平淡的救援过程，实际上处处都是危机，稍不注意别说救人了，可能自己都得搭进去，就这还是女主拥有充分的物资冗余，整个看下来感觉是部灾难救援电影，实际上却是女主心灵上的救赎，救人即救己，片子不错，值得细品！
其实挺无趣的，但又希望看看富人家族的另一面。最后一刻其实还蛮感动的，无论多成功的商人，财富的盈利比不过家庭的温暖。
典型的一两个人演完的电影！观感节奏都不错！
拍成电影的话太不流畅了，交代的也很不清楚，前面一直懵逼状态
故事一般般，很安静的讲述一个故事，但风景真的很美，又想骗我去爬山了，疫情啥时候是个头哦，登山杖手柄都长毛了~~~
异域美景+谁是凶手+全员嫌疑人，颇有几分阿加莎式古典本格推理的韵味，但这也致使本片最后的反转完全在意料之中，毕竟在阿婆定律中，“真凶总是那个拥有充分不在场证明，一开始就被排除在嫌疑者名单上的人”🤔
闺蜜出轨老公，反被老公杀死。防火防盗防闺蜜，其实最该防的还是渣男。姑娘们，擦亮一双眼，识别渣男还是暖男吧！故事是程序化的悬疑与反转，坏人是谁阅片无数的人马上就知道了，但还是欢乐地看下去。这就是看电影的乐趣。
但凡導演有一點想法整體會提升不只一個層次，現在只是僅及格的流水線網大。想到同類型的《一個小忙》，呈現手法相比出彩非常多。
看到是《放牛班的春天》的男主，我甩手就是四颗星，其他的都不管了，哈哈哈
一头雾水，莫名其妙，小学生写作文的编剧，全靠男主秀下限的一系列匪夷所思的举动推进剧情
女主很牛逼，女闺蜜很nice，女警察很棒，女律师很厉害。
原本一段惊心动魄的救援，拍出来却平平无奇，有点可惜。自我救赎的一种，就是投入生活，去拯救生命。
