The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 其实很明白老而弥坚的东木导演自导自演这部电影的心境，宝刀已老，虽然曾驰骋疆场，但现在却难堪大用，心理落差可见一斑。电影里的故事情节体现出了东木导演牛仔气质的一面，为了保护心爱的女人孩子离开家。但是故事情节和人物成长都太单薄了。
东木大爷年过九十依然奋战电影一线，令人钦佩，还希望看到老爷子贡献佳作。
比《老爷车》稍微缺了一点点，但比《Mule》要好很多。

看着颤颤巍巍的东木，实在是太心疼了。但故事是真的挺无聊的
人生就像东木和小男孩在墨西哥边境小镇度过的那段美丽时光总是太短暂了。
在平庸的故事里也只有老爷子可以讲出牛仔的浪漫，但是小男孩太拉垮了……
简介有误吧。老牛仔去带孩子的原因是他还欠着农场主的人情，而农场主当初在墨国有以前妻名义投资的产业，现在农场主想以孩子要挟前妻才有了这个故事。
东木老爷爷精神可嘉，不过衷心希望这部不会是您的息影之作啊。

这一回，即使身为东木粉，我也打不出四星了。即使是曾经最拿手的西部片+公路片（一定程度上又复刻了[完美的世界]），伊斯特伍德也还是没拍好，或许终究是英雄迟暮吧
行货吧，也不能说差，但就是没什么出彩的点，除了几段的摄影。

4/10 就是拉了，影调风格和配乐还是一贯的东木味道，精致考究；但在单薄羸弱的80s老剧本之下，和没有任何特色的配角以及仅靠三言两语推动的剧情也实在难以称得上是优秀。差强人意算得上，但绝不至于晚节不保
东木竟然还能演戏，出乎意料，可惜这部的故事有点无聊，但东木老人的戏只能且看且珍惜了。
剧本弱，片中最有男子气概的角色竟然是一只鸡！
最后那两个怀疑东木车里藏du的警察，是不是从《骡子》片场穿越过来的？
