The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 22岁姐狗男孩的眼泪，我都懂！！！看的过程中想到queer as folk里Justin和Brian这一对。20±是个奇妙的阶段，对同龄人无感，对成熟人类的性吸引力倒是折磨得死去活来。kidult的设定也给角色大加分，温柔男生小鹿一样温柔的眼睛和长长的睫毛是这个年纪不可多得的宝藏，但注定迎来「你需要未来，但不会是我」的终极必杀。Leslie Mann是演出太迷人了，是我最喜欢的女演员之一。Looking里的温柔公0 Richie居然就演了个纸片人就走了，好想他。
3-，算是典型的插曲介入型成长故事，人物关系、发展都很老套。
表演是主要亮点。真实的自闭症人士得以出演还算立体的角色，可喜可贺。然而安德鲁感觉像拯救不算立体的单亲母女的自封超级英雄
一个比较浅显简陋的鸡汤片里面有所有鸡汤处女作会出现的问题然而它竟然不是一个处女作不过这好像是我第一次看到强生没有那么boring
还行吧，音乐挺好听的。但是剧情蛮无聊的。男主很敏感很有爱心，他跟别人相处的时候都还行，唯独跟剧中女主相处时最无聊最墨迹。
人生的经历总有许多相似之处，年轻人就应该享受 年轻 ！

“You only have you. How scary and how amazing.” 虽然本自闭症题材爱好者感觉被骗了，但也算挺特别的成长电影吧。喜欢姐系充满生命力的毕业生和无时无刻不在放电的达妹，情迷意乱太合理了。

明明就是美式玛丽苏狗血片，硬要和青春、成长、歧视搭上关系，实在是低级，以为达科塔约翰逊有转型，结果根本没一点长进，2星半

废材帅哥爱上邻居妈妈求而不得的故事。全片唯一亮点就是后爹替他妈出气打了恶霸家长一巴掌，全车人高兴得屁颠。

前半段的氛围感和场景塑造的都很不错，但是到高潮的时候象征过于简单粗暴，且脱离整个故事主线，留了一个很一般的留白。从中可以看到五类男人，但是全村没有一个正常男人是不敢相信的，这一点为了强调诡异感和女性主义电影过于夸张了。当然这些男人的行为也很夸张，更加加深性别对立的情况，揭露可以，但是添油加醋就很不真实。少数觉得好的隐喻是蒲公英，隐喻生育与精子传播，石刻脸贯穿始终，也有原始生育的意味。而且房东牧师警察等人都由一人饰演，这种嵌套和男人都一样的隐喻也很可以。
