The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 你能在一部动画片里看到工地，贫穷，也能看到理想和浪漫
如果大家能接受《雄狮少年》，为什么不能接受《燃野少年的天空》？
大厦的夹缝中你被晃了晃眼，虽跃不过高山，但太阳照常升起。
美术是我看过做的最棒的中国动画，舞狮的细节、动作的质感都做的太好了，前半部分有点尬后半部分节奏剧情人物都丰满了起来。在美国电影院里看的，场里的外国小孩都看得很兴奋，这电影才是真正宣扬中国文化啊！谁能想到在国内居然因为脸部细节争议乳化，我如果是导演我得气死。。
其实调性没有做到十足统一，前半段不少情节流于虚浮和滑腻；《少林足球》的现实底色和无厘头表演可以达成完美糅合，《雄狮少年》多少缺了些这样强大的创作自信。中段画风一转，进入农民工叙事，尽管蒙太奇高速切换，还是有残酷的生存细节接二连三地冒头。收尾实在利落，情节设计结实地击中到我：配乐和分镜准确地搭配，想象力和少年心气一齐迸发，但也不忘加上一个彩蛋，消解了“我命由我不由天”的神话。在奇幻当道的国产动画圈，多一星给主创选题的勇气。
跟想的一样，泪目。电影里邪不压正。现实呢。想起那个去印度集中营的随水。还能拍得出来。低头
国族寓言。最后要跳上“擎天柱”的情节太狠了，争得第一已经不能再满足，哪怕自己从最高处坠落也要让自己的“狮头”挂上去。有着不顾一切地自我毁灭的冲动。很多时候，我隐隐约约感受到的不是所谓的“小人物”成长，而是压抑过久后集体性的精神爆发，当然这一切都是在“父”的领导下。
青岛今天开始点映。《雄狮少年》太棒了！太棒了……考虑他在目前国内动画市场所拥有的意义，我要给10分。国产动画电影终于在“讲中国故事”这条路上不再围绕神话人物兜兜转转，哪吒和孙悟空可以躺回去不用总被拖出来鞭尸了。这是一部现代中国语境下、充满各种时代细节、地域气息浓厚却几无理解门槛、小孩子看热闹、成年人会共鸣、全年龄的励志喜剧类型片，而他内核实际上是个青年定位，主角线的具体设计在国产动画里是首次出现。全片节奏卡点非常准确，剧本却能突破套路给人猜不到的反转，几场写意段落的演出极为出色，天台的舞狮戏和结尾高潮的醒狮让人眼眶湿润。瑕疵有两点：影片前半某些台词过于中二，猜测是为了拉低观影门槛而做的调整，或者故意与影片后半做区分；某些喜剧段落的连接过渡有点生硬。但这些瑕疵在这部片的现时意义面前我可以忽略。
从头哭到了尾，太美了。中国动画终于不再依附于传统英雄，神话传说，而是开始讲述小人物，城市里的无名者，心中有一腔热血的你我他。
哭得泣不成声，这明明是一个非常……非常悲伤的故事，一个非常难过的结局。明知最终会摔得头破血流，明知命不可逆……还是慷慨就义似的、拼死一博似的，在这该死的命运面前，明知不可为而为之地挑战“天”挑战敬畏！我唯有看到绝望与悲壮，命不由我，认与不认都无法改变结局，但也明白了师傅说：阿娟，不要认啊，不要认……
三星半，电影表达了很克制的英雄主义，埋伏的周星驰电影梗让人会心一笑，几段热门乐队的配乐与情节非常契合，尤其喜欢结尾的设定，既没有抱得美人归，也没有逆天改命，连天桩也是不可能跳上去的。舞狮大赛后，阿娟还是得去上海打工。仿佛一切都没有变，但一切都已经改变。什么是英雄？不是口号，也绝非浮名，而是在平凡生活中，在进进退退中，不逃避不退缩，无所畏惧地向前走。从另一个层面上也很写实地反映出，民间传统文化已经没办法让人安身立命，所以阿娟最终还是走上了他师父的老路。
夹带私货的文艺作品滚远点，影像艺术人物没有一个有美感就不足于成为一个合格的作品。
想起新兵连的一个广东战友，很瘦弱，很拼命，家很穷，人很好。
虽然套路，但，真的好燃啊！！！后半段各种热泪瞬间。结尾收得很好，不用真的给一个奇迹瞬间，足够感动就够了。舞狮如人生，都是上山下山。未必都会赢，但一定不能认输。另外，其实舞狮并不能改变什么，也不会真的让你走向成功。但生活中总是要有点奔头，要有一口气，这才是活下去的理由，也是会觉得热血的原因。
最近看过的动画片都拍出了点东西。片尾非常升华了，人力有时而尽，可是作为精神代表的雄狮留在了顶峰。配乐超棒。超级多的人看到了热血与励志，不知道怎么我看到的都是现实，想起了刘学州，主创的想法昭然若揭，甚至其中插入了一段《少年中国说》。片中涉及很多农民工，留守儿童，其实最核心的还是青少年的困境。不要让他们成为无名之人，养家之人，拼尽所有换一个普通剧本的人。
可能是口碑过好期待太高，看完觉得就挺套路的一个励志片，好多台词都太中二太尬了，而且从设定上来讲，舞狮这种需要台下几年十几年的练功，让他们一组几个月速成，多多少少是对武术人的不尊重了。
你要梦想，还是生计？
如果一定要喊国产动画崛起，或许现在才是好时候。
技术没的说了，情感和人物也都没拖后腿，送去奥斯卡没准真能搏一搏呢……
杰伊比姆，是否比肩我们的人民万岁。这个世界的游戏规则是又少部分人制定的。从出发点看，即使万全的视角也有被遗漏的黑暗角落。印度的种姓制度都没有给贱民说话的机会。向上通道被彻底封死，这才是真正的恐怖。阶层可以存在，但声音要有渠道能让世界听到。
