The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 剧情硬伤太多，不过确实好看也好玩，只是结尾太尬了必须扣分，前面说了半天要获得武器，结果一拿弓箭瞬间化身罗摩，开启神话模式，而且居然开开心心回家跳舞了，更不要说印度民族英雄英国傻白甜了，这样要能摆脱英国真是纯粹靠运气
如题，真3R级脑洞动作神片，想象力太丰富了，那体格，老虎扑过来可以接住，万人从中杀进杀出，铁齿鞭过几遍还能一声不吭，一星期一顿饭还能搞俯卧撑，然后骑在肩膀上的两人，来去自如可以越墙从监狱逃出，，，太特么厉害了，可是你看着这些，觉得出戏吗？不觉得，就只有鼓劲，干！哎，我们的水平还待提高啊！手撕鬼子，以后可以重新安排上？hhhhh
自古水火红蓝出…不出意外的赋予了英雄神性。打不死，你可以永远相信主角。套路爽片但看的很开心。
印式主旋律，我懂，咱们也有手撕鬼子的抗日神剧；主角光环，我懂，咱们也有打不死的李云龙……唯独这载歌载舞的花式开挂和基情四射的奇葩笑点，让我能不断跳脱剧情，享受莫名欢乐😀
真的是印度版战狼了，哈哈，两兄弟最后连体婴儿了，战斗力真的无敌，主题还是不错的，印度人民反抗殖民的故事。

印度的抗英神片，本土双雄干翻大英总督，本片可视为《巴霍巴利王》与印版《变脸》的合体，通过“天神下凡”的神话叙事来讲现代故事，影片中段首个高潮，双男主一个驾驶着烈火战车，一个与猛兽相伴，已经是标准的天神造型。
印度的史诗英雄片视觉真是独一档，英殖印时期都能玩出史诗级的感觉
超级好看，一部印度游击队反抗帝国主义侵略的史诗。几乎无可挑剔，剧情、演技、特效、画面、音乐、质感都属上乘，基友的感情也让人动容。同样是反抗侵略，中国目前还没有这么精彩的片子。
说实话，作为一个基佬，我看过的同志电影没有比这个更基的。男二中了蛇毒被男一放上平板车那段，很难不马上想到老汉推车四个字哈哈哈哈

印度的爽片看起来那他喵的是真的爽啊！上天入地无所不能啊，金刚铁骨刀枪不入啊！文能法场唱歌，武能空手擒虎！爽啊！
据说刷新了好多票房记录的印度神片，看完之后脑子里全是小岳岳那句：我的天呐，这么神奇的吗？剧情是讲两个印度英雄抗击英国侵略者的，而且这两个人好像还是印度历史上真实存在的…但故事讲的实在是太魔性了，就是那种一边看一边说：哇靠这也行？啊哈哈哈哈哈哈！然后接着往下看到停不下来…虽然三个小时真的长了点，但三个小时能一直让你这么快乐的片子真的不多见，而且片子里该爱国和热血的地方人家也没耽误…[捂脸][捂脸][捂脸]
第一次看印度神剧，属实牛逼！每个印度部落出这么一个人物，早就可以反攻英国本土了吧·····不过特效是真的好！
