The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 又名二十世纪六零年代美利坚史。太空含量过低，而且时间和空间的横沟导致完全无法共鸣。
目标受众：1970年在得克萨斯州长大的白人。 画风有点像印刷版画，相对独特。童年回忆部分有些冗长，像是导演童年记忆简单的堆积。个人共鸣不多，画风也不是特别能接受，暂不推荐。
太懂这种感觉了，压根与太空科幻无关的片，而是导演对自己记忆美好的追念或者说成品。在科技发达的今日，仍然用简略纪实的动画风格去怀念那些过去的年代记忆。就犹如lana del rey在最美好的时节唱衰美国，而理查德·林克莱特则用动画重置了自己的《少年时代》。电影很好，可能会捞的各大动画电影提名，但是打动不了我的，始终是片中那些美好的美国梦，美国生活，美国童年始终离我又近又远。 @2022-04-02 00:26:31

开始只觉得画风好看，叙述杂乱不知道要说什么。但是看完之后才品味到这清甜淡茶的后劲儿。ps原来美国孩子的童年记忆也有在车上睡觉，被父母抱回家。
感觉“阿富汗战友”的时间和年龄的设定有bug。
使用太多种画法和风格用来表现不同阶段和时空，也导致了全片美术风格不太统一，感觉是由没有执导过动画的导演带来的问题～
主要是那年代的美国南部休斯顿的生活比较有意思。
