The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 感觉主角的设定有很多不可推敲之处，查了下果然是原著书中没有的人物。这种无父无母无孩无产的设定，给了电影某种“自由”，却也造成了遗憾？

我在辽阔的荒原行驶着毫无畏惧与一无所有的自由，在那无依之地，才是我内心真正的落脚地——这部片子说的是解脱。一开始你是被迫上路的，就好像一个病能保守治的可能性被扼杀了，只能动手术。然后在路上，在手术的无奈和悲凉中，你却慢慢体会出无所依的圆满与自在。毕竟，有依靠的温暖终归是短暂的、是有条件的、是束缚的另一个面具、是骗你的。
其实情节一般，但是节奏好，拍出了一种不哀不伤的人生态度。

每一种生活方式
克制的流浪长诗，既不过分悲戚又不过度赞美，对失去和放下的探讨其实和《蓝》的自由母题接近。略有遗憾的是未能把时代背景下个人精神的强迫流浪表现更充分。换句话说，所谓"自由"也不是纯粹的个人选择更是对后工业资本主义的拒斥与背叛，能更有现实批判力度。但一个中国籍导演能拍出如此美国的作品，还有麦姨的演技，真的厉害
