The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 好好好好好好带劲儿啊！子仁他值得，他和安安一样也是亚洲之光！就是在恐怖片这个小类里他也不重复自我不打安全牌，又在新的小细分区域里搞出了新花样！而且更可贵的是，越到近年他的恐怖作品里反而更多传达了积极正向的意念了，感人！
温子仁 总能把一部看起来是烂片 并且看不明白的玩意 在最后通过真相连接起来 就像蝴蝶效应一样 他的罗辑思维真的是强大 我只能说 虽然不认识女主 但她演的是真的好 特别是反过来行动的时候 温子仁总是跟孕妇过不去 电锯是大嫂流产 死寂是媳妇直接没了 招魂也是孩子 这个又是 他是通过什么才认识到一个母亲的强大力量的！！！而且还专门给母亲留了bgm！！！以前只想过精神分裂 温子仁把恐惧最大化直接寄生！不可否认的是 恶魔是存在的！人也是可以战胜他的！真棒 温式恐怖bgm和故事
一开始平平，变身的那一刻还是可以的，结尾有点草率，这都能和解
恐怖氛围做得挺屌的，转场调度也有很亮眼的时刻。就是那位的能力为什么会这么强完全没有解释一头雾水。
前半段是熟悉的温氏鬼屋，构筑丰富的空间层次，让鬼怪从暗处强势出击。后半段《走近科学》大忽悠大反转，全盘科学解释，所以去掉血腥画面可以进国内院线。被诟病的是，双生畸胎是太过老套的设计，细节也没有任何惊喜。女主能力爆表，说是新的超英电影《磁感侠崛起》也毫不违和。
觉得比潜伏招魂两个系列好看多了，被姐妹情感动到！有个肯为你大半夜去荒山野岭为你查明真相的妹妹真好！！
后半程情绪完全被调度起来了，而且结尾并没有走向神神叨叨的未解之谜，这个解释，我服！虽然不知道删了什么，还是别看爱奇艺的删减版吧
21_161。从“某”开始攻击监狱和警察局时那画面就变得好笑起来，看着他那身板飞来飞去对不起画面实在是变得滑稽起来。前半还是好看的，悬念做得好，效果也够刺激
后面警局真精彩，诡异的行动模式，故事简单粗暴
巴哥不少，但看片过程能让人沉浸里面没想那么多，不过电影一结束就各种冒出来了。
悬疑属性大于恐怖属性，把这种奇幻拍成这样其实还是挺过瘾的，黑色幽默+温馨结尾很温子仁。显然更喜欢前面多一点，后面就变成了血浆盛宴，大屠杀那段有点《双瞳》的feel，没有条件的还是看未删减版本吧（笑）。PS：现在看后脑勺都有点...(3.5/5)
故事整体比较简单，就是Jump scare太多后面反而觉得没怎么被吓到…另外Gabriel开口我还以为他会说「I’d like to play a game…」🤦♂️
或许是期待太高了，这一次温子仁的电影并不恐怖。在得知真相之后，反派的身姿和动作显得非常滑稽。前面一小时很无聊，频繁的惊吓段落也没有惊吓。
四星半，真正的“脑洞大开”，打斗场面暴力血腥，但只是团灭了群演，对主角下手并不是太狠。对惊悚画面心理把控的真好，尤其喜欢屋内的戏码

前面都是德帕尔玛玩剩下的，从扒脑壳虐杀开始，快睡着的我总算打起精神来了——动作戏笑死。信条这么拍多好看！
