The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will.     虽然要看字幕,但是很喜欢这样温情而不煽情的电影;也喜欢电影在机场告别,体现了中国人的含蓄,喜欢电影最后妈妈做飞机的感受描述。希望未来能见到更多这种类似的电影。

    很真实,拍摄的方式很纪录片,带给观众亲近,不过剧情确实平平无奇。人物角色方面,妈妈的塑造非常好,反而女朋友的刻画有些扁平。配乐不错,但过多使用反而让人不适。

    7/10。剧作、摄影跟表演有不少问题,故事其实也算俗套,但整个主线还是执行得不错,泽凯、静姗与妈妈三人的冲突、和解都很自然。我虽然不是狭义上的潮汕人,但看见熟悉的街道与风景,听见相近的方言以及带有潮汕口音的普通话,乡愁不禁油然而生。折纸钱、拜神、唱戏、算命是潮汕人的习俗,即便没做过至少也见过、听过;而大家庭观念、重男轻女、讲话特大声、讲义气与热情,是潮汕人的特性,无论好坏,导演将这一切呈现在观众面前,足见其诚意与对家乡的爱。电影中的一些细节也处理得不错,比如潮汕人玩直播,妈妈来深圳后与泽凯一起喝饮料、吃雪糕,都代表了城乡、新旧不同群体的交融,很符合故事的主线与电影的主题。

    3.5星吧。电影语言比较差,但剧情还是可以的(分手那段处理得不太合理),民俗的部分可以刻画再多细节再深入一些(不仅仅是作为环境、背景)。

    泽凯妈对“外省再婚女”珊珊的抵触,似乎是潮汕人浓烈的宗族与本地意识的集中外化。语言的阻塞,制造心灵的隔膜。城市对小镇的同化,外语对方言的遗忘,又现几分文化忧患。而其本质,无非是封闭与自洽的空间生态,在面向无法掌控世界的极端畏惧与不安全感。而最终的和解,多少沾上些“延续香火”的妥协。

    技巧嫺熟很多,完整不枯燥地講完了整個故事之餘,難得的是還傳遞出了本土戲劇的傳承,外地人對潮汕本土風俗誤解甚至妖魔化的一些解釋,玩具船長的『兄台,你近來好嗎?』當年第一次聽的時候就覺得真的很適合作為一首影視歌曲出現在一部適合的作品裡面,想不到還真是被他找到了,這也算是稍微填補了我這個強迫症患者的一個小心結。加油啊,潮汕電影!我愛阿嫲,哈哈!

    地方性的,最近看了这部、东北虎和爱情神话,最喜欢这部,比东北虎好个二十几倍吧,但节奏不行,我妈看睡着了;关键点的处理(妈妈的转变)有点水不够打,女主差劲,好在爸妈实在演得太好了。三部片的区别就是:讲不讲人话,关不关心人物命运。看海报有点像《别告诉她》,王子逸还是厉害!P.S.我妈说音乐很动人呢!

    完全出乎意料的好看,本来看着演员觉得有点路人和出戏,但是随着剧情的推进,他们的演技很自然真诚,就完全被打动,观影一气呵成的愉悦,影片真的把普通人和普通事拍的那么有趣且动人~

    故事很贴合,有一丢丢强行,真的是瑕不掩瑜。开始看觉得很多人演技都不在线,后来越看越真实,越看越顺眼。感情都在,融入的东西很多,但都讲出来了。剧本打磨得很好

    这样说可能不太好 但确实是我最近些年看过的电影里面 演员颜值排Bottom10的了 更悲催的是演技也基本上跟颜值成了正比 唯一值得称赞的是片中所有的潮汕元素 还比较新奇有趣。
