The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 昨天的移民故事会给今天的困境找到一些答案吗？未来存在于过去中
一部包装很漂亮的电影，至于里面没，真就一般般。
肯导这次拍自传算是用了心思，情感真挚，但缺了一丝细腻。有些表面的技巧，旋转运镜构图色彩等在这类作品里不能加分甚至减分（当然如果波洛侦探里能继续发挥还挺期待的），不能掩盖住情节松散和punchline的缺失。表演上，妈妈部分片段有点用力过度了（太戏剧了hhh），其他都还不错。
For the ones who stayed. For the ones who left. And for all the ones who were lost. 确实看出很多《一一》的味道，动荡的年月里更加感慨。
黑白格调，有历史感的同时不失唯美，儿童视角，动乱冲突依然看到儿时的快乐和对故乡的留恋。似乎也就能想到这些，还有就是英式英语吧（大概）。7/10分
蹩脚的游子怀乡，拍个情怀罢了，所谓乡愁，真看不到。
英国的《八月》，喜欢里面的构图和摄影，配乐好听但太频繁，居然提名导演奖，令人费解。

全片黑白色调，致敬回忆。爸爸和妈妈很像Jude Law和Renée Zellweger
每首歌倒是恰到好处，不过好散啊 也没法让我共情……

其实任何作者在拍给家乡的电影都会因为很浓的情绪没法评价，在我心中（罗马）是封神的。本片只能拿45分。
若把此片看成是一部私家回忆，那确是很好了。
电影最后直接道破天机，故乡的童年回忆难道不就是关于离开的人留着的人和迷失的人吗？确实和罗马有异曲同工之妙，但基调显然没有那么克制，最为动人的几个镜头是一家人总是坐在一起看电影。所以我觉得无关技巧，导演只是想尽情地勾勒那段Your whole family haves you的回忆罢了。另外，片头的几场调度很迷人。
爱尔兰的历史纠缠是影片的背景，爷爷奶奶是全片亮点，然而总体上觉得缺点真实感，仿佛看到了存在于记忆中的片段，与主角小孩越近越真切，远些的就有点虚了。
