The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 莎翁台词耳熟能详的前提下，如何做出高作者性强风格化演绎作品的命题挑战让古典戏剧成为最适宜词牌。黑白的视觉策略几乎是删繁就简的极致，褪去所有星光与血色的喧哗干扰，光线操纵与戏台追光高度重合，复杂装置的几何线条和明暗分割组成装饰意味突出的美学影展。无数镜头构图符号象征趋于饱和，单帧如同摄影静画，戏剧与影像的鬼魅共生没过更应侧重的叙事和视听的蹊径，灵魂仍然是减去色彩由视觉消音所打光的舞台表演。无尽空洞的走廊和阶梯仿佛视错觉悖论扭曲的梦魇迷宫，追随贪婪投射的幻象悬崖打转，走向王冠的天梯却向着堕落地狱引路。无数直视镜头的特写强调表演的自白性质。魂灵萦绕不散，被心魔纠缠者前赴后继谋杀权欲腐蚀的心灵，女巫狂舞，黑鸦群起。漆黑，苍白，迷雾和暗夜是痴人说梦的二重奏。如果这是一次A24的纸刊专题策划，将会如何？
“我厌倦了等待真爱”
故事有点老套 但troye怎么可以这么好看…
没啥必要，通篇的策略皆是惨白的邪气与呆板的装饰性，与极简的初衷背道而驰。
戳爷的表演很自然，甚至让人忘了他有偶像光环。很有英气，很符合这个角色，让人很情不自禁的喜欢。他身上有着自由放纵的气息，或许也是因为这样，自己也想成为像他那样的人，把一切都看得不在乎。但无可辩驳的是，青春永远无敌。

史上演技最好的麦克白与麦克白夫人，摄影绝到无话可说，极简主义打造的黑白布景将舞台剧效果拉满，然而最大的感想却是——科恩兄弟解体了？！
想到有可能会听不太懂古英语台词，可是没想到基本上没听懂在说什么，幸好对情节有所了解才能大致看懂剧情走向。不过保留了十足舞台剧味道的全片仍然是一道无比美味的佳肴，黑白和4:3画幅影像增加了复古苍凉之味，仿佛一部老电影，打光和音效设计很用心，转场丝滑无比，三女巫也是让人印象太深刻，仿佛第七封印里的死神。
美即是恶，恶即是美——科恩新作《麦克白的悲剧》试图将东方的「阴阳」学说与西方的「三位一体」教义与人类自身的美与恶进行融合，如标题「预言」所说，人神交媾后的产物最终酿成了大家不愿看到的结果。偶然又必然闯入人间——钻进人类体内「假慈悲」的秃鹰——终究是破坏了善恶、黑白、男女、东西，以及科恩兄弟之间和谐运转的自然法则。这部「后人类中心主义」视角下，以「极端个人主义」美学批判由「极端个人主义」美学引起的「恐怖主义」事件，借古喻今的政治宣言貌似是在给「当局者」建议，实则是在煽动权力「下位者」推翻这个诅咒般的「权游」体系。即，将被麦克白夫人「悄悄」放进麦克白意识里的鬼/神再通过麦克白夫人之手将其放飞出去。毕竟，在神抑或鬼的教唆下，该死的暴君非但不会被刺死，这样的国际笑话抑或历史悲剧反而会没完没了的降生。
欣喜出自作品之外。A24探寻电影新风格的做法是回溯到戏剧的本源，先破后立。而我始终相信，传统戏剧与电影的未来是相互提示的，莎士比亚很可能就是那把打开新世界大门的钥匙。
故事要从一个破了的套套开始说起，主人公经历种种，最后发现只有姐妹才是最靠谱的。盛夏三个月，我在彷徨中遇见了生活的希望之光，如烟火般绚烂，也像它那般转瞬即逝。他走了，这个夏天也跟着走了。好在我没事，好在我有爱我的姐妹与疼我的奶奶。另外，如果TS看了这部电影，大概会唱一句——听我说，谢谢你，因为有你……★★☆
就是我看不懂，但是我很震撼的那种电影，光影美学非常上乘
青春成长故事，又一次证明了男朋友不如闺蜜。另外，我要说一句，零食散落在自己睡的床上真的让我不能容忍，在我的世界里，谁都不能这么做，包括我。电影这一幕上演时我丝毫没有感到浪漫，只觉得窒息！
