The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 女主太美了 前期青春羞涩后期霸气妩媚 她是如何消化自己一生的不幸在泥潭中开花 真的令人震撼 只可惜这样坚定的女权主义者还是因为这个阴暗畸形的社会失去了太多 纵使最后她为红灯区的众生谋求到了曾经想都不敢想的权利 但她的伤痛又由谁来买单呢。扣一星是觉得被黑帮老大收作小妹的转折太突兀了 但甘古拜的名字会在街头巷尾被大家用自己的方式铭记。
本片是根据真实人物的故事改编的，宝莱坞的电影大多是以情节推动为主线，没有太多的多线叙事制作形式，不停地吸引观众投入的就是单线强情节，情节往往又是以关注现实社会、政治、经济的敏感话题，作为他独特的视角。
叙事有些拖沓，不过这也是印度片的一直以来的缺点。无法以上帝视角去指责甘谷思想的局限性，不够进步不是她的错，尽其所能地在帮助其他性工作者，她已经很伟大了。

不管是愤怒、心痛，还是喜悦，全片感情表达都相当克制；叙事详略得当，几乎没有废镜头。最喜欢女主不卑不亢地要求成为黑手党生意伙伴，而不是直接接济；最不喜这个黑手党老大的形象太理想化。

在印度这个背景下能拍出一个这样为妇女权益发声的电影真的不容易
