The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 只要是和克隆人技术有关，伦理是一个绕不开去的话题。影片的观点或许就是：替代者本身就完全是自己的DNA复制的，当本体即将死去，那么用克隆体继续生存下去是除了对自己本体不公以外，其余各方面来说都是最完美的解决方案。
是一个值得探讨的科幻点子没错，可是很多戏剧冲突源自不合理的剧情安排，这么一想就略出戏，影片渲染的情绪显得略矫情……另外感觉是不是有一批小时候喜欢看王家卫片子的老美长大当上导演了…
