The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 真实还原了战争的血腥和残酷，这一点来说是优秀的现代战争佳片。但对于战争的反思，人性的拿捏还是差了点火候。男主一家全被炸死这一段，演技合格，但没爆发出来，全剧都是在这样的压抑和克制里。是合格的了解历史的战争片。

7/10，满满的对上世纪60-70年代的回忆，登月、上太空是最鲜明的时代特征，而本片正是借着最具有时代符号的事件全方位表达了对时代记忆的怀恋，是兄弟姐妹、玩伴、游戏、歌曲、电影等等。。真美好啊！

不管视频是基于全部事实拍摄的也好，还是参杂了很多水分，或者是大家说为什么俄军六七年了也不去管，我只觉得如此残忍杀害自己同胞的是真正的杂种
现在却需要重新夺回自己失去的一切才能再次征服和探险未知的宇宙。

看之前没想到是动画形式的纪录片，氛围温馨明快，最后孩子和成人交替步入浩瀚宇宙中的场景足够梦幻美丽，而渺小的人类还在争论登月的意义
登月➕童年➕69年夏天。这组合拳把我分分钟击倒。
1969 年夏天人类首次登月，通过一名孩子的眼睛去见证历史，这既是一部成长故事，也是一部社评片，更是一场天外大冒险。
怎么能有这么细心的团队呈现一部童年电影画册哇，实名羡慕了，不禁想起自己的童年。不管是60年代还是8090年代，都是充满生机勃勃和希望的，踏出的一小步，人类的一大步。
以動畫的方式呈現真的很能打 同時剛好本人對美國60-70-80-90年代都特別有感 很喜歡那是的lifestyle 再加上太空的議題 真的很不錯
上次看转制动画还是《半梦半醒的人生》，看完后又专门搜了登陆月球纪录片来看，正如影片中所说，当时现实中许多复杂的事情，对观众来说就像电视剧一样，人的记忆是很奇怪的，会认为自己亲眼看过，而至今仍有人怀疑月球漫步的真实性。
林克莱特最后那一组平行剪辑，将登月事件和自己当下的半梦半醒串联起来，恍惚间参与了登月事件。站在当下回望过去，每个人确都有这样的时光。
属于那种拍的还行，但用宝贵的空闲时间看会后悔的类型
