The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 你还不如直接说跟看见慢动作一样，达到了“不老”，居然这么科学的去造干细胞……所谓的“爱情”，更像是编剧一厢情愿的认为：自己念念不忘的人，在老了或者出事的时候，会回过头来找自己的。
叙事结构太满了
四星，半星给演技，我觉得好的文艺电影是每个人都能看出自己的东西，而不是大部分人看不懂你说的是什么
王传君后半段总还是药神内味，明明不丑一人😂😂
少见的拥有独特气质的电影，观感很奇妙，潇洒又文艺，即使是一些小幽默看着也有些许沉重。算不上爱情片，倒像是拍人的一生，拍人类对生命的探索。片中的念白并不拖后腿反而很合适。演员的表现都恰恰击准了点，王珞丹是真的美。最难忘的角色是丁萌萌，一开始“不怕死”地被医学生开刀，到最后因“怕死”而去“寻死”。“不老奇事”几个字大概是分开的，“不老”是主角的追寻而不是能力，“奇事”是人生的经历而不是能力的性质。
演技感情都很到位，但是干细胞 特异功能 不老这些就有点扯没有完美的融入到故事线，还不如不扯这些纯谈人生与情感。这种类型《本杰明巴顿奇事》《怦然心动》是标杆，喜欢的可以去看看。
感觉两个小时的片子像两个导演拍的，前一个小时质感很好，剧情和智商人物逻辑都在四星的线，后一半像拍到一半没有经费了开始拉干细胞企业的经费成了大型干细胞广告，剧情和人物关系往无厘头的方向发展一直拉垮到收尾。换个名字和剪掉中间大幅讲干细胞的部分其实会是一部质感很好的作品。有点可惜。

不太像爱情戏。
4.看完全片，好像讲了什么，又好像没有刻意去突出，感觉主题稍微有点不明确（最后男主去非洲当医生的情节感觉有些刻意和多余）
5/10。不老只能是奇事。立意不错，思想也够深刻，台词算精彩，演员也给力。但问题是，这几样全都是散沙，不能有机结合在一起。或许王朔的笔杆子最好的状态，就停留在上世纪八九十年代了吧。
这？？？开始以为是爱情故事，后来以为是干细胞宣传片，接着变成耶稣殉道，最后竟然是个奇幻片？？？？
真的是一部奇片！有奇人奇事奇观，却探讨的是最不愿提及的死亡！王朔的剧本，王传君和王珞丹的演技，八分以上的好片！

原以为是本杰明巴顿奇事的本土化，意外得还可以。一段横贯60年的爱情故事，叙事效率很高，野心很大，走故事情节，人物情绪比较薄，台词京味儿浓很鲜活，但前后割裂感确实强，王传君就是艾德里安 布洛迪北京分迪，摄影机观察视点，最后奔战场行使使命那段配着连绵不断的旁边确实困，最后的煽情有点楞
前面和后面仿佛是两个导演导的 画风转变得好快而且好着急 王珞丹演出了自己作为女明星的挣扎和无奈 值得七分 结尾我真的哭死 王传君的旁白把我吃得死死的
这个故事可惜了，当时还以为会是一部黑马。唉，被导演拍砸了。
剧作非常复杂，在国内一众影片中，如此复杂的剧本是十分少见的，虽然复杂但却并非十分出色，首先一点就是在这冗杂的剧作中没能做到扬长避短。同样都是讲述一个人的一生，我们不会觉得大卫·芬奇的《返老还童》冗长无趣，除了芬奇天才般的叙事手法之外，还有就是剧作上扬长避短，懂的何时省略，何时着重。本片摄影意识也很强，试图加强某种史诗感，最后一个伪长镜头更加能体现其迫于展示的欲望，只不过败在了王珞丹给吴彦姝突兀的配音上。
其实从开头到出国那一段我真的觉得挺好的，除了画面的卡顿感、抖动感和掉帧感让我有点难受之外，我都很喜欢，剧情从出了国之后开始跑偏了，如果直接发现永生干细胞，并且结局和丁萌萌在一起都比这个结局好太多，编剧为了让郭小鲁体会孤独，让他周围的亲人和爱人全部写死，并且强行深刻，探讨生死，把事情搞复杂，就彻底将故事讲烂了。
创意与主题还是可以的，有想法，不过导演的执行能力太差，也可以看出王朔的编剧也不行了。大量的旁白式叙述让人觉得很烦，本身电影也就那样，如当中所说，抱歉讲了这么一段很长的故事，剪辑的很差。王珞丹还是美的，王传君全程就是面瘫式的表演，完全不用力。一生追求永生不老的方法，到头来其实都是梦一场，一切的记忆都会消失，只不过是换个思考方式角度去活在另一个世界而已，俗称痴人说梦
