The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 两个女演员挺好的，很有青春气息，只是如果已经做出选择了，就别揪着过去不放了，让前任当伴娘这个挺残忍的。
有些东西没拍出来，3星多一点，加一份感情分。Lady Gaga演得真棒，Al Pacino 和 Adam Driver 的表演本身也都还是挺好的。

婚礼那一段配乐很好听，但是配乐盖过了台词和表演使电影有“mv感”。两个主角嘴亲肿之后带口罩吃饭那段很可爱，有些画面拍得很美，调色很好但是有些地方柔光滤镜开太大了。《蓝宇》片段运用的很巧妙。
拍的稳倒是挺稳 可就是没啥意思 唯一的趣味点是lady嘎嘎的造型 每一套 每一身衣服 都像是什么温州女老板 让人出戏哈哈哈哈

那些鼓吹的所谓奢侈品文化与故事，原来就是这样一个故事？好吧，这样的故事并不会让人对品牌有任何好感，弱化了设计的品牌满溢着狗血文化。
Ladygaga 演好了一个令人生厌作呕的女人，戏剧王子演好了一个无聊的男人，阿尔帕西诺演好了一个被生活打败的高贵的人，但那又如何？这个片存在的意义是？仅仅是为了满足导演和世人的窥视欲？
十八无丑女。青春的身体就是活力无限。
中间睡了好几次，分三天看完。似乎挺好的故事，怎么拍成这样？古驰家族出面干涉了吗？
现在的同性青春片啊，为了爱情弄得翻天覆地撕心裂肺互相折磨，着实让观众很难引起共鸣，细腻朦胧美不好吗。这两个演员的面相也不适合演高中生。
气死我了，哭死我了，我们东亚拉拉为什么活得这么辛苦！为什么李芯悦不敢真诚地面对自己的感情？为什么李咏蓝婚礼上不抢走新娘！（可是李芯悦的演员某些角度太像陈妍希了，我都讨厌不起来！
感觉有点怪，Gaga的表演夸张而喜剧，故事走向又偏drama，所以比较混杂。但是Gaga演得好，Driver到最后黑化以后的表现不错，清纯小兔子时候不行。还是Jeremy Irons一出手就拿得出手，帅得
雷神的处理怎会如此平庸，实在令人乍舌。一众好演员始终救不了剧本的“面面俱到面面不到”。故事到底要拍什么非常含混：倘若写的就是帕特利奇亚那么不如强化她的视点和感受；倘若写家族衰败就无需从帕特利奇亚和毛里齐奥初识讲起。另外一大败笔是演员的选择，演员是好演员，单故事开始时，帕与毛都是25岁，Gaga和德赖弗却都是四十岁的脸，没有天真的欲望，有的是只是城府。甚至old school与fashion的差异也没拍出来，倒是保罗出场的家庭球赛有趣。有趣的是美国人还是单纯，拍宫斗也斗得忒小儿科，最遗憾的是毛里齐奥的复杂性被吞噬了，这大约是李治一样的人物，借了武则天的手去铲除异己，当被推到权力漩涡中时，权力就是肾上腺素让人欲罢不能。影像上也很电视电影感，所以真不如做成迷你剧，可写就的也丰富些。
有些片段為了服務劇情，太直白的呈現在觀眾面前，前面説完因，後頭馬上把果補上，失了留白的效果，這麼拼拼湊湊出片段，導致像拍一部濾鏡全開的MV。
还是浪费了题材…几次转折好突兀，人物情绪不连贯…感动不起来。

分离与死亡，代表着成长与告别。
