The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Wow, 好久没有这种观影体验了：看到四分之三的时候我还跟乔老师说怎么还什么都看不明白，看完后四分之一突然豁然开朗，谜题解开留下无穷回味。有些情节看上去玄之又玄，其实故事不过是一场简单的关于骑士精神的试炼，如何面对自己的虚伪和懦弱，如何化解面对巨大权力时虚妄的执念。精彩！

光影音画均很出彩，可惜邪气不够，说教意味过浓，中间几乎拍成了聊斋。将时间无限拉长，又穿越几层空间，居然没有展现出多少延展度。对失落的古典道德的探讨具有多少警醒意味则全看这中间有多少文化隔阂，个人比较喜欢结尾，向死而生也好，死亡既是归途也罢，都是对自我的接受与必然。

无功无过剧情老套的儿童片，没劲时可以看看。
恐惧和胆怯是人之常情，但拒绝虚无，坦然面对，迎接解脱，也许这正是骑士精神的意义所在。
还不错，有点以前《101斑点狗》的节奏，喜剧，后面也是遇到坏人要捉狗。结构虽然老，但是挺可爱的，带小孩看的童话电影，挺好的。

The first part in B/W could be seen as a journey to bid his brother a moving adieu by transporting the ashes of Pirandello, whose works have been adapted by the brothers, to his Sicilian homeland. Whereas the second part in color is quite confusing for us who have never read the story before. The shift from grey to color is poetic though
3.5。在濃重的悼亡情緒之下，電影其實早已形神皆散，徒留下前後照應的戲劇結構和厚重手法續著最後一絲精氣神。
挑人的电影，也不是说观影门槛有多高，是那种电波对不上就会感到十分无聊的类型，然而只要抓到氛围并投入其中就会有抽飞的感觉（嗯）。观影建议首先是要清楚David Lowery是什么人，原型文本不需要提前了解故事其实非常简单（读懂故事反而会损失那诡谲的迷幻感)，浓厚的Anglo-Saxon台词也不必完全理解当作是影像化的一部分就好，真结局出来前感受会有点糟但不急着下结论。
