The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 抽丝剥茧，还算有趣的尝试，比那些洗钱的骗子强多了
最后几幕真的看见了妈妈，就哭的不行了。本身也是很励志的故事，第一次跑上跑道的画面最动人。真人运动员其实长得更好看。然后每一场比赛戏的时候都在想，其实上面的每一个人背后都有这样的一段故事吧。人类真是神奇
这编剧可以的 这种结构式的 很容易就砸了 都在一个房间完成，这剧作很难的， 但是整体还算好 线基本清晰，只是前女友结婚了就杀了人家两口....这说不过去...
完成度还是不错的，但跳不出盖里奇和宁浩的模子，就难再往上说上点什么了，顶多就范伟的梗、饭桶外卖算是新特色。至于拐卖儿童，也太突兀了点吧，深刻不是这么搞的呀。
节奏、氛围还不错，只不过内核是个什么东西啊？似乎只是单纯为了氛围而特意营造的的一部电影... 及格还是有的吧...
不过或许是我尚能触摸到奥运会的余温，也密切关注着正在进行的残奥会赛况，所以情绪时常被热血的比赛场面与残奥运动员的生存窘境反复拉扯，与其说是沉浸在电影里，不如说是渴望看到更多电影背后的真实。
1.0星。观众席弥漫着一股想要提前离场的气息，片尾一出所有人在几秒钟之内全跑了，能真切感受到的失望。你可以比他们做的更好，因为你看到了我的影评，你可以根本不用进场。我是每周最新国产片权威排雷。

这片最好的地方就是它没有把拍摄重点放在拍他得到冠军的挫折，而是更多的放在得到冠军以后的生活，凡人总要回归生活。这种对生活的不抛弃不放弃才是阿伟最值得学习和敬佩的地方
还是差了些细节 虽然是从母亲视角切入 但完全的对二儿子的忽视和传统的意外发现天才 严肃教练队员内讧都有些俗套 令人惊喜的时母亲扮演这吴君如 在时间跨度较大时还能准确把握符合年龄段的表演很厉害 比较惊艳的是片头把孩子放上蒸汽运输带决定放弃孩子 那种面对现实的无奈展现的淋漓尽致
全员尬演，唯一的收获是发现窦骁变身加拿大国籍了~
这是真·剧本杀电影啊，代入感可太强了。剧情反转不够惊艳，感受因为编剧不够经验？编不下去了，就炸煤气罐同归于尽？范伟老师一如既往地稳，窦骁的帅忽然就get了，至于张颂文……还是期待您其他戏的表现吧。
真正让人感动地地方不多，主要写出了残疾运动员坚持的不易，父母对弟弟的行为简直丧心病狂
勉强两分。《夜·店》《老笠》等片的同类，一个封闭空间，几个谋财角色，猝然相撞造成的戏剧化。空间里不断增加新角色，回放场景逐步还原他们的身份跟关系，看似狠毒阴鸷的角色，终归逃不出国产电影的限制，必须加点喜剧设定，甚至加入了为儿子手术铤而走险盗窃、贩卖致残儿童的社会话题性——加的太硬了，连窦骁的角色都在吐槽范伟为了救儿子尝试盗窃，要在一个晚上偷到几十万——这角色设定完全属于胡说八道了，可能编导就是想混合各种近年电影市场上有效/常规的调料，效果不伦不类的。此外也有些莫名其妙的桥段，比如朱珠见到陌生人张颂文就抱上去啃，被贩卖的小孩里恰好就有一个张颂文的闺女，张颂文都不在医院了，他闺女在医院干嘛？这都什么乱七八糟的？导演技法也不行，开场张颂文摆脱束缚那段，应该拍手而不是拍脸啊。胡明和蔡鹭的恶狠演得挺好
这么多好评刷的人好尴尬吧……我已经很久没有在电影院有度日如年的感觉了

啥都不是，受够了这种布满编造痕迹却毫无价值的所谓爆笑烧脑煽情强反转剧本。很想统计下有多少导演是拿着《演员请就位》当拉片教材拍电影的，摄影机除了傻愣愣盯着演员浮夸的表演再不会别的了。
20分钟能说完的短片，充斥着闪回倒叙来扩充时长。可以做成类似调音师的效果，但顾头不顾腚的做法还是让本就单薄的成色再黯淡一些。
居然是个意外惊喜，看见范伟就能乐，值得了。
