The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 给观众下咒的做派要说恶心不至于，观众智商低到这份上那我也无话可说，个人只是觉得无聊，因为电影本事质量低，这个下咒之举就非常幼齿。这部电影所有元素都是别人玩剩下的，我是真心没有被吓到，不是我对恐怖片免疫，是真的看过一遍了都，吓人的节奏我都给你算得准准的。相比之下同时期同样有着广泛舆论褒贬不一的“灵媒”和“南巫”都在各自领域起码还有的聊，突然就显出优点来了，这玩意真的超无聊~~~~
一般。伪纪录片的形式可以说是毫无必要，而且很多地方刻意地第一人称拍摄，反而让我出戏。也不咋恐怖，本人经历过太多恐怖片洗礼，看这个全程放松不紧绷。两个小时中唯一稍微有点吓人的时刻还是主角准备播放洞穴里的影片的时候，我的硬盘突然接触不良黑屏了hhhhh
故弄玄虚，语焉不详，推进极慢，看到一半就不耐烦了。第一版预告片吓人指数10，正片只有1。竟然还有人真情实感的觉得晦气？我只觉得呵呵。
讲真，剧本逻辑值不起推敲。恐怖氛围营造得不错，但是手持摄影的真实感细节还是有做得不到位的地方。
柯孟融在片子里对观众的诅咒搞得我根本不敢骂了.......只敢浅夸伪纪录片的形式、布满巧思的细节、自圆其说还带浅反转的剧本真远超及格线，主观镜头有限的视角对于恐怖氛围的营建我真深深刻刻体会到了。但咱就是说，这最后一招够恶毒熬！
不过这只是个恶作剧，
玩微纪录片破绽百出，剪辑乱七八糟，母亲情感也是让人无法理解，传播诅咒拯救女儿，问题在于这个诅咒的释放和世界观都没有较好地展现。献祭女儿，送头发，都是那家人的诡计，那怎么不找他们复仇呢？
无知才是对人类最可怕的诅咒，传播祝福与传播诅咒本质上有啥区别，影片操纵观众不禁想起趣味游戏，
2022年了，还有玩这种拙劣的故弄玄虚，感觉更像搞笑片
原本看欧美的宗教系恐怖片是完全没在怕的，现在看来是文化壁垒的问题，换成本土宗教（虚构）吓得我只敢水平端着手机看。提前知道咒语的意思让我避开了更晦气的部分（我这种喜欢积极互动的憨批在没有剧透的情况下是一定会跟着狂念的），从未如此感激过剧透🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
最终才做到了晦气满屏的效果。
说实话不是很恐怖，看完有点心里犯膈应倒是真的，结尾还献给小天使
7.5分，氛围不错，世界观完整，女主演技可以，我觉得高英轩才是男主哈哈哈，林敬伦都没有秀身材，浪费！记得不要看结尾的脸就行。
虽然还是挺无聊，但真的有被恶心到，越老越看不下血腥的场面。人的意志会有意无意地引导自己走上某条道路，看似是被邪教土术的咒语所影响，其实还是含有挺强的自我意志，也就是所谓的“不作死就不会死”，求佛拜神不过是个安慰剂，咒语也同样如此。人在求一些东西的时候就像望进大黑佛母设下的欲望深渊，得到一些就会失去一些，不单是于己，可能还会作用到他人身上，即所谓祸福相倚、生死有名。如果是电影院大银幕看一定会很享受。
好怀念林正英的僵尸，不仅扮相吓人，还可以跟自己祖宗十八代上演一些悲情剧目，僵尸是僵尸、人是人，僵尸与人的情感不再相通，而道行很高的道士师父又总可以降伏僵尸，你明明白白地知道邪不胜正；好怀念《聂小倩》，女鬼们总是迫害至死、阳寿未尽却被法力更强大的恶鬼所控，又总会有为之痴狂的书生出手搭救，上演一些人鬼情未了的爱情。我不知恶意之神、符咒以及控制人意念的邪术该归到哪一类，不知归类为佛教还是道教的反派，不知是不是万物有灵式的“多神论”，我不知导演怎么可以将宗教跟科学兼容，宗教跟科学都信，我认为是一种人格分裂。如果导演将所有人归为精神病，我们又在镜头里看到了切切实实的鬼。幻视、妄想症和作为实际存在的鬼怪又是两套体系。观众一旦无法选择确切的世界观，移情模式也会很混乱，又怕又不怕、又信又不信，简直莫名其妙。
作为观看恐怖片多年的观影者并没有被吓到，反而觉得有众多恐怖片的影子。女主竟觉得有一点点像刘若英。
虽不信佛但尊敬加上国人电影有文化认同感所以带来的惊悚和不适感远比外国宗教恐怖高
但那些点赞转发考研考公上岸的祝福真的要转吗？他是在叙诡咒你！
三星半，最高能的都在预告片，剧情跟真实事件关联度已经不大了。谁能想到2022年还会在电影里看到当年在天涯被科普的莲蓬乳，最后一帧太像紫水晶了（不是）。手机跟dv，行车记录仪，监控等，记录方式挺多的，就是有点乱，真正吓人的地方还是几个jump scare（摊手）。鬼打墙部分不错，隧道视频的伪民俗做的有意思，视觉残留这个设计很妙（也很欠打，视觉污染）。最后又是三个惹祸精搞出的一堆事，“干，又在谈恋爱”笑死
结尾反转确实出乎意料，但电影还不值6+的分，打高分的颇有种骗其他人来看的感觉。这种绑架观众的电影不值得提倡。
